THE Federal Capital Development Authority, has stated that the refurbishment of the National Assembly Complex would not be completed until August 2023.

This is despite stakeholder pressure on the FCDA to finish the complex renovations before the 10th Assembly convenes in June.

Recall that the National Assembly complex rehabilitation project was awarded to Messrs Visible Construction Nigeria Limited in 2021 for N30.2 billion, with a completion deadline of August 15, 2023.

The FCDA Executive Secretary, Engr. Shehu Ahmad during a press briefing in his office yesterday explained that the enormity of work required for a world-class parliament building demanded that it not be rushed in order to avoid past mistakes, deliver excellent and lasting results, and permanently resolve the challenges of leaky roofs and inconvenient sitting arrangements, among others.
