THE newly elected governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, has stated that he did not celebrate his election victory because he has been concentrating on his duties as a member in the National Assembly since getting his Certificate of Return.

Senator Uba Sani in an interview conducted in Hausa and broadcasted in the state dispelled rumours that said he left Kaduna following his victory

He said that it was not in his character to indulge in merrymaking as the opposition would have preferred, which he believes is wrong.

Instead, he stated that prayers were offered by both Islamic clerics and Christian clergy, imploring God’s guidance in his capacity as Kaduna State’s Number One Citizen.

“The opposition said that I didn’t celebrate my victory with all kinds of celebrations. They don’t know the personality called Uba Sani. It’s not in my character to embark on such celebrations,” he said.

Uba went on to say that during the Ramadan fasting period, imams gathered, read the Glorious Qur’an, and thanked Allah for the victory.

They also prayed that, just as He had granted him victory, the Almighty would help him manage Kaduna State in a just and equitable manner. He also noted that a number of pastors had also come to pray for him and the state.

Recall that the governor-elect has promised to carry all segments of Kaduna State with him when he takes office on May 29.
