A tourist plane today crashed in a mountainous location in western Switzerland, killing numerous people.
The regional police acknowledged that an airplane had crashed at Ponts-De-Martel in the Swiss canton of Neuchatel, but provided no further information.
According to media accounts, multiple passengers were killed in the collision, which occurred about 10:20 a.m. (0820 GMT) in a forested section of the Neuchatel Mountains.
Police said they would with hold the information about the plane crash, how many people were onboard, and how many may have died or been injured until their families were informed of the catastrophe.
According to the RTN broadcaster, rescue services and police are on the site, and officials have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
