EDINSON Cavani has revealed that his sons worship Victor Osimhen and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia for the Nigeria striker and Georgia forward’s contributions to Napoli’s success this season.

Uruguay striker Cavani is regarded as a hero in Napoli after scoring 104 goals in 138 appearances for the club between 2010 and 2013.

The 36-year-old, who is currently at Valencia, said his aspiring footballer sons cannot stop talking about Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia.

Osimhen scored 23 Serie A goals to lead Napoli to their first Scudetto in 33 years, with Georgia international Kvaratskhelia contributing 12 goals and 10 assists.

“They talked a lot about Kvaratskhelia and Osimhen,” Cavani told Dazn.

“Even twenty days ago when they came to see me they spoke to me about it. It’s nice to know they have these idols.

“My two sons are Napoli fans. When Napoli didn’t win the championship or were out of the Champions League, they went crazy.

“They were born in Naples and grew up in a city that has given me so much too. So it is right that they are free to cheer for Napoli.

“They know all the football chants. I only remember “The boys of curve b” but they are joking because today there are new songs and choirs.”

When asked what he admired most about fellow striker Osimhen, Cavani waxed lyrical about the 24-year-old Super Eagles star, crediting him as the main character in Napoli’s Serie A success.

“I really like his hunger, it’s incredible, he never gives up, and so in the end it’s what makes you a difference and makes you a competitive player,” the former Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United striker said.

“He has everything to continue growing and become one of the best strikers in the world. The Scudetto was also won thanks to his hunger.”
