ALEX Iwobi has won Everton’s Players’ Player of the Season award after a stellar personal campaign in which he helped them avoid relegation.

The Super Eagles midfielder featured in and started all of Everton’s 38 Premier League matches this season, completing 36 of them.

The 27-year-old Nigeria international logged 3,382 minutes of action, registering two goals and eight assists as Everton finished 17th and escaped relegation by two points.

He was voted as the best player at the club this season by his own teammates, which makes the award more significant.

Everton fans commended the Nigerian after he was presented with the award today, most of them writing on Twitter that he was their most creative player this season.

Iwobi was not voted by the fans as their Player of the Season though, with goalkeeper Jordan Pickford winning the poll with 42% of the votes.

Dwight McNeil received 73% of the votes to win the Young Player of the Season prize.

Seamus Coleman’s strike against Leeds United was named Goal of the Season with 29% of fans’ votes.
