A former secretary of the Park Management System (PMS), Oluwatomiwa Omolewa, has been chosen as the agency’s new chairman by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.
Sulaimon Olanrewaju, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, revealed this in a statement yesterday ordering the reopening of the parks, which had been closed following the dissolution of the PMS Disciplinary Committee led by Mukaila Lamidi, popularly known as Auxillary.
Auxiliary was declared wanted by the state police headquarters for allegedly storing weapons and ammunition.
The suspect apparently escaped during a police raid on his hotel, but some of his lieutenants were apprehended.
The governor also named Kasali Lawal, popularly known as Baba Bola, as the PMS secretary.
He said the appointment was part of the state government’s reorganization of the PMS, and that the new management team included representatives from all of the key factions in the transport union.
Others appointed in management include: Tajudeen Jimoh as the Deputy Chairman; Kamardeen Idowu as the Treasurer; Tirimisiyu Olowoposi as the Financial Secretary; Abass Amolese as the Organising Secretary; and Hamidu Mustapha Were as the Auditor.
