SIERRA Leone have announced their squad for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying clash against the Super Eagles.

The encounter is billed for June 18 and be played at the Paynesville-Samuel Kayon Doe Sports Complex in Monrovia, neighbouring Liberia.

The Confederation of African Football rejected Sierra Leone’s application to have the match against Nigeria played in Bo City, the governing body insisting the facility provided was not up to standard.

Leone Stars head coach John Keister released a provisional squad of 38 players today for the fixture against the group leaders.

Some of the players in the squad include England-born former Premier League star and current Wigan defender Steven Caulker, Kamil Conteh, Alhaji Kamara, Idris Kanu, Lamin Conteh, Mohamed Kamara and Daniel Karim.

Keister is expected to cut down the squad before the match as Sierra Leone seek to climb up the Group A table.

They are currently third in the group with five points, four behind leaders Nigeria and two adrift of second-placed Guinea-Bissau.

In the reverse fixture in Abuja last June, the Super Eagles came from behind to win 2-1.

Alex Iwobi and Victor Osimhen scored for the Super Eagles after the Leone Stars had taken an early break at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium.
