THE Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) has revoked the license of Nazia structure and Civil Engineering Company Limited, the owners of a multi-story structure in Abuja’s Life Camp district that collapsed yesterday.

Mukhtar Galadima, FCDA Director of Development Control, told Channels Television that the developer had been granted permission to build on the land. However, the structure failed an integrity test, and the developer was ordered to halt development, which he did until the incident yesterday afternoon.

The fallen facility was intended to be a five-story hotel, but it fell yesterday afternoon on some construction workers.

When the structure collapsed in, no one was killed, but nine persons were injured.

The Authorities also used bulldozers to demolish the structure next to the collapsed one today saying that it also failed the integrity test.
