THE chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State, Paul Omotoso, has been kidnapped by gunmen.
According to sources, he was abducted this evening while driving along the Agbado Ekiti-Imesi Ekiti Road.
Segun Dipe, the APC State Publicity Secretary, said that the incident occurred as the state party chairman was driving along the Agbaso-Imesi Road.
Dipe said, “The chairman was driving in a Venza car along the road.
He said, “The gunmen shot at one of the tyres of the car. He was taken into a Toyota Hilux van and drove off. He was alone in the car when the incident happened, according to the information we have.
“It happened in the evening, we got the information at about 6 pm. The security agencies – police and Amotekun – have been alerted, and they are all working on it,” the APC spokesperson said.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Ekiti State Command, Sunday Abutu, stated that he will get back “as soon as I get the confirmation.”
