THE All Progressives Congress (APC)’s lead counsel at the Adamawa State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, Akin Olujimi, has announced that suspended Resident Electoral Commissioner Hudu Yunusa-Ari will withdraw as a witness.

Yunusa-Ari was to be the APC’s main witness in their petition against Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

This is happening a day after the tribunal barred Yunusa-Ari from testifying as a witness due to the petitioner’s failure to notify the tribunal of its plan to present him as a witness.

Following this development, the suspended REC was replaced by another witness, a forensic expert, to conclude its presentation.

Meanwhile, the tribunal has adjourned till August 2, 2023, for further proceedings.
