THE Directors of the Department of State Services (DSS) in the six states of the North-East geopolitical zone have requested that governors prioritize the distribution of relief materials in order to strengthen security gains in the insurgency-ravaged region.
The proposal was included in the communiqué issued at the conclusion of the quarterly meeting held at the DSS state headquarters in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.
The top secret police agents had assembled in Maiduguri to discuss the security of the zone as well as the function of information collection in the fight against terrorism.
Following the meeting, the DSS directors in the zone, led by their chairman, Abdullahi Hussani, paid a visit to Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, and delivered a communique summarizing their discussions.
The directors were appreciated by Zulum, Chairman of the North-East Governors’ Forum, who promised to cooperate with his colleagues to restore peace in the terror-infested zone.
The governor also vowed to follow up with his colleagues in Yobe, Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe, and Bauchi to ensure that relief goods are distributed properly to the people.
