LIVERPOOL have completed the signing of Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich on a frantic transfer deadline day that has also seen Barcelona snapping up Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo on loan.

The Netherlands midfielder Gravenberch found playing time hard to come by at Bayern Munich after joining them from Ajax last year, and he will hope to get more action at Anfield after this £40 million move.

“Liverpool FC have completed the signing of midfielder Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich on a long-term contract, subject to a work permit,” the English Premier League club announced on their official website tonight.

“Netherlands international Gravenberch becomes the fourth new arrival of the summer for the Reds after undergoing a medical and finalising the deal at the AXA Training Centre today.

“A product of AFC Ajax’s famous academy system, he came through the ranks to become the club’s youngest ever debutant at 16 and went on to claim three Eredivisie titles, being named the division’s Talent of the Year in 2021.

“Now the 21-year-old starts a new chapter in his career with Jürgen Klopp’s team, following Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo to Anfield.”

The Dutchman was as expected delighted to complete the switch, saying: “I’m very happy. Very happy that the deal is done and I’m finally here.

“If you see it from the outside, it’s one of the biggest clubs in the world. Also the fans, the stadium, I think everything from the outside is top. So that’s why [it was the right club].”

Also tonight, there were two key arrivals at Barcelona in the Portugal internationals Felix and Cancelo from Atletico Madrid and Manchester City respectively.

The Spanish giants confirmed the moves for the forward and full-back tonight.

“I’m very happy to join this great club. It’s a dream come true,” Cancelo, who was on loan at Bayern Munich last season, said.
