SUPER Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has been included in a nomination shortlist for the Championship Player of the Month for September.
The Nigeria international has been in fine form for Leicester City since the beginning of the second-tier campaign in August as they seek a quick return to the Premier League.
Ndidi is nominated along with his teammate Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, both of them helping the Foxes to three league wins during the month, with victories coming against Southampton, Norwich City and Bristol City.
Playing a more advanced role than his regular defensive midfield, Ndidi scored in Leicester City’s 4-1 win against Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium on September 15, while Dewsbury-Hall posted a number of impressive midfield performances during the month.
Ndidi has made 10 appearances, eight of them from the starting line-up, in the Championship this season, registering one goal and two assists as Leicester City lead the standings.
The other players nominated for the award along with Ndidi and Dewsbury-Hall are Jack Clarke of Sunderland, Liam Lindsay of Preston North End, Morgan Whittaker of Plymouth Argyle and Nathan Broadhead of Ipswich Town.
