THE acting Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Wura-Ola Adepoju, reports that over 112,351 passport booklets are yet to be collected by applicants across the federation’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Adepoju stated this yesterday during a press conference at the agency headquarters in Abuja, adding that the statistic was as of October 5.
She added that the service had cleared all 204,332 passport application backlogs following the service’s two-week deadline set by Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo last month.
And so far, 91,981 passport booklets have been collected, she said.
The NIS director also further requested that applicants go to their local application centers to pick up their travel documents.
