KELECHI Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi were both involved in goals for the second consecutive match for Leicester City yesterday as their side secured another victory.

The Nigeria internationals contributed to both goals in Leicester City’s 2-0 home win over Stoke City that kept the Foxes on top of the Championship standings.

Iheanacho, who also scored in the 4-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday when he was assisted by Ndidi, opened the scoring in the 24th minute yesterday with a crisp finish.

Ndidi then came on in the 77th minute and set up the second goal two minutes later for Jamie Vardy, who had come on at the same time to replace Iheanacho.

Ndidi now has one goal and three assists in 11 Championship appearances while Iheanacho has four goals and one assist from the same number of games.

Also in the Championship yesterday, Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo was an 86th minute substitute as his side Southampton were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Rotherham.

Aribo has started only once in his 10 Championship appearances this season and has played a total of just 126 minutes without registering a goal or assist.

Also yesterday but in Saudi Arabia, Super Eagles forward Henry Onyekuru scored his first goal in the Saudi Arabia Pro League as his side Al Feiha secured a 1-1 draw at Odion Ighalo’s Al Wehda.

Onyekuru struck in the 23rd minute to finally open his goals account after nine appearances and one assist.

He played all 90 minutes, just like his Nigerian teammate Anthony Nwakaema and Ighalo on the opposite side, who fired blanks yesterday but has scored five goals in seven matches.

In Italy, Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze made his second start and his seventh appearance in Serie A for AC Milan as they defeated Genoa 1-0 and took top spot.

Chukwueze was substituted off at half-time and is yet to score or assist since joining the Italian giants from Villarreal this season.

His replacement yesterday, Christian Pulisic, scored the only goal of the match to earn Milan a hard-fought away victory.
