THE Kano State governorship election dispute between Governor Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and Nasiru Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is scheduled to be decided by the Court of Appeal Abuja Division today.
The notice posted on the appellate court’s board states that the ruling is expected to be delivered by 10 a.m.
Ahead of the anticipated ruling on the governorship election, the Kano State government has called for calm in the state.
According to a statement released by Baba Halilu Dantiye, the Kano State Commissioner for Information, the government has also requested that NNPP supporters maintain composure and refrain from disturbing the peace.
In addition, the commissioner urged security agencies to step up their efforts to maintain the state’s law, order, and peace because some unscrupulous individuals might try to take advantage of the situation.
