CHAMPIONS Italy have been placed in the same group as Spain in the 2024 European Championship (Euro 2024) draw held tonight.
The two clashed in the semi-final of Euro 2020, with the Azzurri winning on penalties after a 1-1 draw at Wembley Stadium in London, England.
Russia 2018 losing finalists Croatia, who also reached the World Cup semi-finals last year in Qatar, are the third team in the tough group, with Albania completing the set.
Another tough-looking group, D, pits Qatar 2022 finalists France against the Netherlands and Austria.
The play-off winners among Poland, Wales, Finland and Estonia will be the fourth team in the group.
Euro 2016 champions Portugal, led by their legendary captain Cristiano Ronaldo, are in Group F with Turkey and Czech Republic.
The winners of the play-off spot between
Georgia, Greece, Kazakhstan and Luxembourg will complete the group.
Hosts Germany are in Group A with Scotland, Hungary and Switzerland, while Euro 2020 losing finalists England face Serbia, Denmark and Slovenia in Group C.
Euro 2024 will take place in 10 venues across Germany from June 14 to July 14.
