UMAR Sadiq scored his second goal in three games last night to help Real Sociedad secure a draw in LaLiga while Ibrahim Olawoyin netted twice in Rizespor’s Turkish Super Lig victory.
Super Eagles striker Sadiq produced another cracking finish in the 1-1 draw with Osasuna, beating his marker and firing in from distance one week after scoring a similar goal in the 2-1 win over Sevilla.
Sadiq appears to have found his scoring form by scoring in his last two LaLiga starts, after failing to find the net in his first 10 appearances of the campaign for six-placed Real Sociedad.
In Turkey, Olawoyin, who is eyeing a call-up to the Nigeria national team, netted Rizespor’s opening goal, set up by Englishman Jonjo Shelvey, and the stoppage-time winner in the 3-2 victory over Istanbul Basaksehir.
The 26-year-old Nigerian central midfielder has now scored two goals and made one assist in 14 Super Lig appearances for Rizespor, who are seventh in the Turkish top flight.
In Italy, Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze made his third Serie A start in a row for AC Milan and had four shots as they defeated Frosinone 3-1 to stay in third place and go within five points of leaders Juventus.
Nigeria winger Moses Simon was as usual in Nantes’ starting line-up yesterday as they defeated Terem Moffi’s ambitious Nice 1-0 to move up to eighth in the French Ligue 1 table.
Like Simon, Moffi also played the full game but he fired blanks as second-placed Nice missed the chance to overtake champions Paris Saint-Germain to the top of the table.
