ANDREW Okungbowa, the chief Press Secretary to Godwin Obaseki, the governor of Edo State, resigned his position yesterday under controversial circumstances.

Information reaching Naija Times from our sources in Benin City, the Edo State capital, indicates that the promises Obaseki made to the CPS prior to his resumption on July 25 were not kept.

In addition, the CPS did not get along with Crusoe Osagie, the Special Assistant on Media Projects to Governor Obaseki, who disregarded his office, and usurped his powers at every point, our insiders explained.

Before Okungbowa sent his formal letter of resignation to the secretary to the state government and Obaseki, he had expressed his grievances in a personal note to the governor.

After a short spell in Government House, Benin, spanning less than five months, Okungbowa decided it was time to move on.
