THE headline fixture as the CAF Confederation Cup resumes on Wednesday across the continent is between Club Africain and Nigeria’s Rivers United in Tunisia.

A total of eight fixtures will be played on Wednesday on Matchday 4 of the competition as the race towards a place in the quarter-finals intensifies.

The undoubted showpiece clash for the week will be a fight for top spot in Group C as Rivers United travel to Tunis to face Club Africain.

The two sides met last week with Rivers United winning 1-0 in Uyo, leaving the teams tied on points, goals scored and conceded.

In another big tie in North Africa, Egypt’s Modern Future welcome holders USM Alger who have been in fine form as they look to defend their title.

The Algerian giants have won all their three matches so far without conceding a single goal, and will be looking at maintaining this impressive run.

In South Africa, SuperSport United must beat Libya’s Al Hilal Benghazi to stand any chance of progressing to the quarter-finals.

Unlike their Pretoria counterparts, Mamelodi Sundowns, SuperSport United are yet to earn a single point in their previous three matches as they languish at the bottom of Group A.
