KASTINA: Police, army foil bandits’ attack, rescue 10 kidnap victims

A joint patrol team of the Katsina State Police Command and the Military was attacked on Sunday 25th February 2024, around 10:40 hrs by a group of armed bandits with AK-47 rifles while patrolling the feeder road between Kukar Babangida and Yan Gayya.

The patrol team fought back and managed to stop the attack and rescued ten individuals who had been kidnapped by the bandits.

The Katsina Police Command spokesperson Abubakar Aliyu revealed this today stating that the patrol team showed great courage and skill in the operation.

He also appealed to the public to keep cooperating with the command and other security agencies in the state by providing useful information to combat crime and criminality in the state.

He reiterated the command’s dedication to making Katsina State a safer place.
