THE Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara has in a statement by the State Government Secretary, Tammy Danagogo, announced a reconstitution of the new Governing Councils of two state universities; the Rivers State University and the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education.
He named Justice Mary Odili (rtd) as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairperson of the Rivers State University’s Governing Council.
He also selected Barr. Mela Oforibika, Chukwuma Chinwo, Esq., Adata Bio-Briggs, Esq., Dr. Jonathan Nimi Hart, Ngo Martins-Yellowe and Dr. Robinson Ewoh as council members.
The other council members are Dr. Nancy Nwankwo, Dr. Igoni William-Park and Ogbugbu Barisua.
For the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, he appointed Chief Adokiye Amiesemaka, a former National Footballer and Justice Commissioner, as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairperson.
The council members are Dr. Iboh Okidim, Prof. Jason Osai, Prof. Ijeoma Akpu, Dr. Akabue Ugochukwu, Mmeme Gogo-Adiari and Hon. Dominic Sata.
The statement said the appointments are effective immediately.
