THE Super Eagles of Nigeria camp in Morocco for the friendly matches against Ghana and Mali has opened, with 10 players already in town.
The three-time African champions will face Ghana on Friday and Mali next Tuesday, both matches taking place in the Moroccan city of Marrakech.
Among the early arrivals in the Super Eagles camp are AFCON 2023 Africa Cup of Nations stars Stanley Nwabali, Alex Iwobi, Semi Ajayi, Moses Simon and Calvin Bassey.
Others in camp as at this morning are Cyriel Dessers, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Nathan Tella, Jamilu Collins and Bruno Onyemachi.
The Super Eagles will have their first training session this afternoon in Marrakech ahead of Friday’s first match against their age-old rivals Ghana’s Black Stars.
In the absence of a substantive head coach following the expiration of Jose Peseiro’s contract, the Super Eagles are expected to be handled by ex-international Finidi George for the matches.
Finidi, who is the head coach of Nigeria Premier Football League champions Enyimba, was part of Peseiro’s crew as the Super Eagles finished as runners-up to hosts Cote d’Ivoire at AFCON 2023 last month.
