D’TIGRESS of Nigeria have been drawn in a tough group for the Paris 2024 Olympics women’s basketball event.

The African champions are in Group B with Canada, Australia and hosts France, all of whom are ranked higher than Nigeria by global basketball ruling body FIBA.

According to the schedule released last night at the draw, D’Tigress will open their campaign against Australia on July 29.

The Nigerian ladies, who have won the last four consecutive editions of the FIBA Women’s AfroBasket, play France on August 1 and conclude the group phase against Canada on August 4.

Group A of the women’s basketball event consists of China, Serbia, Spain and Puerto Rico, while Germany, USA, Japan and Belgium make up Group C.
