FENERBAHCE defender Bright Osayi-Samuel has been cleared of all charges and declared not guilty following his action during a pitch invasion last month.
The Super Eagles star got into a physical altercation with a pitch invader during a feisty Turkish Super Lig encounter between Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor on March 17.
Trabzonspor fans invaded the pitch during the game which Fenerbahce eventually won 3-2 and Osayi-Samuel is seen in a viral footage punching on one of the invaders.
In its verdict today, the Turkish Football Federation ruled that Osayi-Samuel will face no punishment, apparently seeing his action as self-defence.
In other decisions the federation ruled that Trabzonspor will be playing six home matches without spectators and will pay a total fine of 3,112,000 Turkish Lira, and Fenerbahce defender Jayden Oosterwolde will serve a one-match ban and pay a fine of 52,000 Turkish Lira.
Trabzonspor coach Egemen Korkmaz and Fenerbahce player Irfan Can Egribat have each been given a one-game ban and a 3,000 Turkish Lira fine for fighting.
Fenerbahce administrators Kursat Ciftkik and Okan Ozkan also received 15-day bans for fighting.
Osayi-Samuel’s actions have endured him to Fenerbahce fans who gave him a standing ovation during their extraordinary general meeting yesterday.
