
WORLD Drummers Day 2024, hosted by the Guild of Theatre Arts Drummers, provided an enlightening experience for me, serving as the new Chief Servant for the Lagos chapter and Director of Business for Gothad National.
This year’s celebration was particularly profound, instilling in me a deep appreciation for sacrifice, selflessness, togetherness, and the power of collaboration.
As Gothad, the youngest offspring of NANTAP (National Association of Theatre Art Practitioners), unfurled its banner proudly amidst the festivities, it symbolised not just an organisational milestone but a testament to the collective spirit and unity within our community. What sets Gothad apart is its meticulously structured framework, finely tuned to harness the strengths and abilities of its members while fostering a culture of dedication and transparency.
Unlike other guilds where power dynamics often overshadow the collective good, Gothad thrives on a shared sense of communal spirit and personal sacrifice.
