PROLIFIC author and literary activist, Onyeka Nwelue is set to release his latest book,“The Nigerian Mafia: Johannesburg,” on South African publishing stable, Jacana Media.
Acquired by Maggie Davey, the Publishing Director of Jacana Media, South Africa, in August, the novel is the third installment of “The Nigerian Mafia” series.
Set in Johannesburg, and to be released on May 1, 2024, the book “promises to take readers on a thrilling journey through the underworld of crime, deception, and ambition,” stated the publishers.
In the storyline, Nollywood actor, Uche Mbadiegwu, finds himself entangled in a web of deceit as he escapes from Brazil with the help of a Sierra Leonean diplomat, only to encounter the enigmatic Professor Bern Steyn, a renowned criminologist at the University of Johannesburg.
As Uche navigates Johannesburg, he crosses paths with individuals whose motivations and agendas are as diverse as they are dangerous. From Chinese businesswoman, Huan Lin Zhang, to Pastor Tim Cletus, a self-anointed Nigerian clergyman involved in visa racketeering and trafficking.
