Amuwo Odofin local government chairman Valentine Buraimoh would open the Community Marathon Series, which would begin on October 2 with the 10km Festac Marathon.
Dr. Valentine Buraimoh who is the host of the one-day event will be joined by other key dignitaries from the community.
The race, themed “Fitness Festival” would mark the official handover of the Community Marathon Touch to the president of the Lekki Residential Association and the local government chairman of Eti Osa LGA, who will host the next Community Marathon Series.
More than five hundred participants from all over the country have registered, in addition to Lagos, athletes from other states such as Delta, Benue, Edo, Kano, Kaduna, Plateau, Ogun, Ondo, and Bauchi have also registered.
According to the organizers, the race promises to be well organized with sufficient security and entertainment, the registration for the race closed on September 24.
The prize for the Festac 10 km marathon is two million naira for both the men and women categories.
Meanwhile, the registration for the Lekki Corporate Marathon begins shortly after the end of the Festac 10km Marathon.
The Lekki Corporate Marathon is aimed at Nigerian businesses within the community to improve fitness and a good life.
