Chike Akunyili, husband of Dora Akunyili, the late former Director-General of NAFDAC, was killed on Wednesday in Abuja by unknown assailants.
Reports indicate that Chike Akunyili was killed on his way to attend a memorial for his late wife, Professor Dora Akunyili, in the early hours of Wednesday.
A call to the eldest son was not taken at the time this report was filed.
A source close to the family, who preferred anonymity, confirmed the killing but declined further comment.
