President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his condolences to the Williams family following the death of their eldest son, Ladi Williams, on Sunday.
Mr Femi Adesina, the president’s spokesman, said the late Williams’ death shocked many people, particularly his close friends and professional colleagues, in a condolence message on Sunday in Abuja.
Buhari joined the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and the Body of Benchers in paying tribute to the legal luminary, saying that he will be missed for his “his passion for jurisprudence and national development.”
He prayed that God would console Chief Ladi Williams’ family, friends, and connections, as well as accept the soul of the deceased.
The son of Chief Rotimi Williams was said to have passed away at about 3am at St Nicholas isolation hospital from Covid-19 complications despite being vaccinated.
His death was confirmed by his younger brother, Chief Kayode Rotimi-Williams.
“I just lost my elder brother, Chief Ladi Rotimi-Williams (aged 74+) to Coronavirus. He passed on at 3am this morning,” he said.
May his soul rest in perfect peace.
