The latest FIFA ranking released on Thursday saw Nigeria still maintaining the 34th position for the month of September.

In Africa, the Super Eagles still maintained their fifth position, Tunisia on the other hand are second in Africa and 25th in the world while Senegal is the continent’s number one team and 20th in the world.

The three-time African champions played two matches in September as they began their World Cup qualifiers campaign with a 2-0 win over Liberia at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos, another victory against Cape Verde was recorded four days later.

The two victories in September were, however, not enough to move Nigeria up in the ranking.

African champions — Algeria are third on the continent and 30th in the global ranking, while Morocco is ranked 33rd in the world and clinched fourth in Africa.

Meanwhile, Belgium remains the number one ranked nation in the world, but world champions France dropped to fourth, with Brazil retaining their second spot.
