Oluchi Madubuike, one of the 37 contestants who got into the MBGN 2021 competition has recently been crowned the winner.
This life-changing moment for Madubuike happened on the 18th of September at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
This is the 33rd edition of the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria beauty contest since its creation and thus far, it has birthed the crowning of foremost beauty queens like Bianca, Agbani, Anjela, Regina, Sylvia, Omowumi, Nyek and Munachi among others.
Ace Comedian Bovi and Renowned TV personality and author, Toke Makinwa were hosts of the event.
In 2019, Nyekachi Douglas won the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria crown and then went ahead to win Miss World Africa in the Miss World pageant held in 2019.
Madubuike, as the winner of this year’s MBGN contest, would go on to represent Nigeria at the Miss World pageant that will be holding in Puerto Rico on the 16th of December, 2021.

Interestingly, Oluchi was not the only winner that emerged from the competition. The First runner-up, Miss Anambra (Maristella Okpala) would be representing Nigeria at the Miss Universe competition, the second runner-up, Miss Abia (Adaeze Chineme) will be representing Nigeria at the Miss Supranational contest, Third runner-up, Miss Bayelsa (Mary Jessica Odjugo) won the MBGN tourism while Miss Bauchi (Lydia Okojie), the fourth runner-up is MBGN ECOWAS and Bayelsa also clinched different crowns and are all set to represent Nigeria in different global pageant competitions.
The 2021 edition of MBGN happened 20 years after former MBGN Agbani Darego emerged as Miss World in 2001.
However, the MBGN could not hold in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic as selections into this year’s contest happened online due to the pandemic.
