On Friday, President Muhammadu Buhari bragged that no government since the return of democracy in 1999 had accomplished what his administration has in six years.
This he said in a countrywide broadcast to Nigerians to commemorate the country’s 61st anniversary of independence.
Buhari who was preceded by former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru Yar’Adua, and Goodluck Jonathan.
On many fronts, Buhari added, a lot has been accomplished in the last six years.
He claims that his critics mistake incremental improvement for stagnation.
“Since coming to power, this administration has tackled our problems head-on in spite of the meagre resources.
“No government since 1999 has done what we have done in six years to put Nigeria back on track.
“We shall continue to serve the country: listen to all and protect our democracy and country,” the President stated.
