Nigeria’s Presidency has set aside N1.6 billion to purchase new cars and spare parts for its fleet in 2022.
President Muhammadu Buhari presented this line item in his budget proposal before a joint session of the National Assembly on Thursday, October 7, 2021.
Estimates suggest that the ongoing phased replacement of vehicles and spares will cost the Nigerian taxpayer N1.6bn, compared to the N436m it cost the federation for new wheels in the 2021 budget proposal.
The N16.39 trillion budget for ‘Economic Growth and Sustainability has a deficit of N6.26 trillion.
Earlier, we reported that President Muhammadu Buhari intends to spend N12.5 billion on the Presidential Air Fleet.
Meanwhile, the Federal Government has set aside N1.8 billion to revitalize the country’s primary health care centres.
