Shareholders of Total Nigeria Plc, the downstream subsidiary of TotalEnergies in Nigeria, approved its renaming to Total Energies Marketing Nigeria Plc.
At the company’s extraordinary general meeting in Lagos, shareholders approved the change of name.
In a statement, the company’s chairman Stanislas Mittelman, represented by Mr Rufai Sirajo, expressed gratitude to shareholders for their continued support of the company as it transitions towards achieving a net-zero status by 2050.
“I now move that the company’s memorandum and articles of association be amended to reflect its new name, Total Energies Marketing Nigeria Plc and that all steps necessary to effect a change of name be taken by the board,” Mittelman said.
The shareholders at the meeting commended the company’s directors for consistently paying dividends and urged the management to maintain that trend. To ensure that the company’s transition was profitable and that its dividends were increased.
