For Android users, you must be running Android 4.1 or higher.
iPhone users must use iOS 10 or higher, as WhatsApp won’t work on iPhone 4 or older.

And if you have never updated your iPhone 6S, 6S Plus, SE (2016), you will lose access as well, until you update it. This is because the default iOS is iOS 9.
Luckily, you can update all three models to the latest iOS 15 and keep access to WhatsApp.
The honest truth is tech companies are gradually stopping support for older devices. This is because it is more expensive to maintain applications on older iOS or Android.
Google did this with older Android phones for Gmail, YouTube, and Google Maps.
This is especially the case if only a small percentage of users are using these older software versions.
Using outdated software can also pose a significant security risk, so it is important that you update your phone and if you are unable to, then, it’s time to upgrade your smartphone.
