BRUNO Labbadia has praised the Super Eagles’ forward line as one of the best in the in the world.

The German coach was close to working with the three-time African champions, with the Nigeria Football Federation even announcing an agreement in August, but the deal fell through over some tax matters.

Labbadia, who was a striker in his playing days, is impressed by the Nigerian attacking talent pool, with Victor Osimhen, Taiwo Awoniyi, Victor Boniface, Terem Moffi and others all eligible for the country.

Speaking on Martin Harnik’s podcast, “Flatterball”, Labbadia revealed why he had wanted to take the Super Eagles job.

“I was tempted to play in the Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup. Above all, to play in a World Cup with a team that would not have to hide from the big teams,” the former Bayern Munich and Germany striker said.

“Nigeria has an offence that is second to none. I have to say that honestly.”
