SKIT maker Mark Angel has advised the youths and residents of Rivers State to stay away from the ongoing political crisis in the state.
Mark Angel emphasized that the conflict arises from political disagreements and broken agreements between different factions of the government—issues that should not concern the public, especially the youth.
In a video shared on his Instagram account, the 33-year-old Rivers-born content creator recalled that he and his team had warned about such a crisis through their skits two years ago, but their concerns were dismissed at the time.
He stated, “My fellow Rivers State people and all residents, especially the youths, this is not your matter; it does not concern you. It is a government versus government issue. The government claimed to have an agreement with another government, but that agreement did not hold, even though they had their issues. What I want you to understand is that this is not your concern. We created many jokes and skits about this issue two years ago, warning that this was going to happen, and now it has.”
Mark continued, “The government ignored those videos, labelling them as jokes and skits, but now it has materialized. So, leave them to fight their battle; if they declare military rule for 10 years, that’s not our problem. As long as we can go out, conduct our businesses, eat, and make progress in society, that’s what matters.”
He urged, “Do not fight over someone else’s issues. The governor who is asking us to protest, how did he come to power? We all know the answer. So let them settle their issues; do not get involved.”
