The Nigeria Police Force on Sunday said 10 people have been rescued from a foiled attempted abduction by suspected bandits along the Funtua-Gusau highway.
The agency said the victims were rescued by policemen from the Faskari Division of the Katsina State Police Command who engaged the kidnappers in a gun duel, causing the criminals to flee with bullet wounds.
The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who disclosed this in a statement, said, “On April 19, 2025, at about 9:35 pm, acting upon information, operatives of the Faskari Division of the Katsina State Police Command successfully foiled a kidnap attempt along the Funtua-Gusau highway.
“They engaged the bandits in a fierce gun duel, causing them to escape with bullet wounds. As a result of the swift response, 10 victims, including two drivers and eight passengers, were rescued unhurt and reunited with their families.”
