Speed Darlington under investigation for alleged defilement of 15-year-old

The incident, which he narrated in Igbo, has prompted swift reactions from the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency and the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons.

In the disturbing video, Speed Darlington recounted an incident that he said occurred about 10 years ago at a hotel where he claimed to have slept with a 15-year-old girl who was a virgin, resulting in bloodied sheets.

He stated that he had to pay N2,000 to hotel staff to have the sheets changed, expressing his disdain for working for anyone, especially in a hotel, by saying, “Before they could come to change the sheets for me, I had to give N2,000. Because the thing is somehow, to tell an adult to come and clean blood that I brought out of the body of a 15-year-old girl. I can never work for anybody, lai lai. I only work for myself.”

Reacting to the viral footage, the Lagos DSVA stated their official X handle, acknowledging the “disturbing video currently circulating online.”
While noting that the entertainer did not specify the location of the incident, thereby limiting DSVA’s direct jurisdiction to Lagos State, the agency confirmed that it has “escalated the situation to NAPTIP.
The statement read, “The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency is aware of the disturbing video currently circulating online, in which a popular entertainer allegedly admits to engaging in unlawful sexual activity with a minor.
“While the individual in question did not specify the location of the incident during the Instagram Live session, we must clarify that the DSVA’s jurisdiction is limited to Lagos State.
“Given the above, and in line with our commitment to justice, we have escalated the situation to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons.”
The DSVA reaffirmed the Lagos State Government’s “zero-tolerance stance against all forms of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence and will continue to advocate for accountability and the protection of every Nigerian child.”
NAPTIP also responded to the video on X.com, saying, “This is not a skit, right? If not, we are sure #Lagosdsva will look into this to the very end.”
The Lagos DSVA promptly replied, “We are in this together, o!” indicating a collaborative effort to investigate the allegation.

The agencies have also urged the public to come forward with any information that could assist with ongoing investigations.
This is not the first time Speed Darlington has been embroiled in controversy regarding his alleged interactions with minors.
In 2022, Speed Darlington had, in an Instagram live, revealed an altercation he had with a neighbour who accused him of getting too close to a 16-year-old girl.
The singer filmed two women outside his apartment while he walked around his living room holding a knife to threaten them, saying, “They continually invade my privacy, opening my window, opening my curtain. I’m alone, two people attacking me.”
One of the women, also filming him, was heard saying, “You’ve met your match. Speed comes outside. I will deal with you; I will deal with you. Why are you running? Continue your live video, let them know you’re a rapist. You want to start messaging a 16-year-old girl, a house girl. Open this door, come out.”
It would be recalled also in 2023 that Speed Darlington similarly got many talking following his search for a girlfriend who must be between the ages of 16 and 20.
“I’m looking for a girlfriend number two, 16 to 20 years old. Anyways all these announcements are a waste. I just need to do what I did before; which is go do a show and spend a week in the village after the show, find somebody to bring her to Lagos,” he said.
