LEICESTER City have been knocked out of the FA Cup by Championship side Nottingham Forest.

The holders were humiliated by the second-tier side 4-1 at the City Ground on Sunday to end their reign in the fourth round.

Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho scored Leicester City’s only goal, with Philip Zinckernagel, Brennan Johnson, Joe Worral and Djed Spence all netting for the vibrant hosts.

Zinckernagel, Johnson and Worral struck between the 23rd and 32nd minutes to take a shock 3-0 lead as Leicester City were completely overrun in the first half.

Iheanacho gave the Foxes some hope five minutes before the break with his fifth goal of the season.
The Nigerian had his compatriots Wilfred Ndidi and Ademola Lookman alongside him in the Leicester City side but they were still comprehensively beaten.

Forest restored their three-goal lead in the second half as Spence fired home in the 61st. The Championship side comfortably held off their top flight visitors to advance to the fifth round.

Forest have now eliminated the last two winners of the FA Cup, having beaten Arsenal in the third round.

In an earlier FA Cup fourth round encounter on Sunday, Liverpool saw off Cardiff City 3-1, with Diogo Jota, Takumi Minamino and Harvey Elliot scoring.
