REPORTS in Italy have continued to link Victor Osimhen with a move to Arsenal for next season.

The Super Eagles striker is admired by several big clubs in Europe after a stellar campaign with Napoli in Serie A and the UEFA Europa League.

Osimhen scored 18 goals in 32 appearances in both the Serie A and Europa League despite missing over two months of the campaign after suffering facial fractures and undergoing surgery.

The striker himself has stated that there is a possibility of a switch this summer and Arsenal are reportedly his leading admirers.

Gazzetta dello Sport claimed today that the Gunners are working on a bid for the 23-year-old, who Napoli reportedly value at a staggering €100m.

Having let go of Alexandre Lacazette, and with Eddie Nketiah the only recognised senior striker at the club, Arsenal are said to be keen on signing an elite forward, and Osimhen has been made their main target.

The Italian outlet insisted that Napoli would demand a mark-up of €20m on the €80m they paid Lille in 2020 to secure the services of Osimhen.

Osimhen, who scored four goals in Nigeria’s record 10-0 win over Sao Tome and Principe on Monday, is also said to be open to a move to the Premier League.

Manchester United have also been mentioned as being interested in the lanky striker, but Arsenal are at the front of the queue at the moment.

Napoli have reportedly lined up a few replacements in case Osimhen does leave, chief among them Italy and Sassuolo forward Gianluca Scamacca.

The 23-year-old Scamacca scored 16 goals in 36 Serie A appearances last season and he is seen as the ideal replacement for Osimhen.
