TOYOTA, a Japanese automaker, revealed yesterday that it will reduce its global production forecast by around 50,000 units from the number given to suppliers at the start of the year.
Due to the ongoing effects of a COVID-19 outbreak at one of its suppliers, Toyota stated it has chosen to extend a suspension of activities at several of its plants and manufacturing lines.
The company anticipates its total global output to reach about 800,000 units in July, and it anticipates that number to increase to an average of 850,000 units from July through September.
However, it stated that its target for output for the fiscal year remained at 9.7 million.
The corporation acknowledged also that there’s a chance the production plan might be modified.
