SINGER Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed better known as Bella Shmurda has disclosed why some people, especially the youths, engage in cyber scam otherwise known as ‘Yahoo Yahoo’.
According to the rave making artiste, the state of the Nigerian society is responsible, as it forces many to engage in the crime.
Shmurda who made the revelation in a podcast chat with ‘Onejoblessboy’ on ‘echooRoom’, admitted that some people who engage in crime are neither happy nor proud, but money must be made somehow.
He said, “This part of the world where we find ourselves is messed up. For you to make it, you have to do some things that even some people won’t caution you because they know how e dey go, you understand?”
When asked if he ever engage in internet fraud, the singer who is also known as ‘Fine Boi Bella’ neither affirmed nor refuted, but stated more reasons people embrace the illegitimate way of making money.
“It’s so painful that you just have to get money somehow. It’s not everybody’s wish. Even people that got money through that means, some of them are not happy with it, for real.
“So, it’s so painful. It’s not something to be proud of but you just have to make it. Things are going funny,” he added.
Speaking further, Shmurda stated that kids will certainly question their parents on why they stayed away from the act when others were making money through it, instead choose to see them suffer.
“You can’t have kids and be telling your kids that when people dey get money this way, you no do am. What kind of explanation is that?
“Yes, we are growing up, we have kids. And to some certain level, if they see that things are somehow, they ask you say, papa, when people dey make money, where you dey?
“You can’t say because you don’t want to do this one. That’s a lame excuse, mehn!”
Recall the popular musician backslash recently for wearing clothing that is associated with crossdressing.
On Sunday, July 31, he made an appearance as a guest performer on the BBNaija live eviction program. Shmurda conveyed the wrong message to fans when he attended the concert looking like a Scottish woman in a skirt and fancy blazer.
However, internet users believed that he was imitating crossdressers like Bobrisky, James Brown, and others through the way he dressed. As a result, fans gave him the nickname “Little Miss Bella.”
