Actress Somkele tells story of son’s cancer diagnosis

NOLLYWOOD actress and model, Somkele kept the challenge of cancer which threatened her son’s life largely to herself until the good news came that the boy is now free of the dreaded affliction.

She has now opened up for the first time about the diagnosis and how she got the initial bad news.

In a lengthy post which was accompanied with a video stream on her Instagram space on Thursday, November 26, Somkele narrated how she got the initial news.
She also talked about how she received the good news she is now celebrating. 

It all happened while she was in South Africa helping fellow actress, Adesua Etomi-Wellington fit her reception dress ahead of her wedding. While there, she got a call about her son’s diagnosis. The world came tumbling down for her. She had to leave immediately, heading back to Nigeria. She did not even attend the wedding because of the circumstance. 

“The past 3 years have been nothing short of a miracle for her, with miracle after miracle, after miracle. On Monday last week, we got the amazing news, nearly five months earlier than predicted, that our baby is certified #CancerFree!” she wrote.

She was full of praises to God for the miracle and expressed appreciation to the doctor who attended to the child and his team; as well as those who supported them along the way. 

Somkele starred in “The Wedding Party 1 and 2” and other movies.
