Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Emmanuel Dennis from Watford in a deal believed to be worth £20m.

The Premier League newcomers confirmed the Super Eagles forward’s arrival last night.

The club tweeted “Our Super Eagle has landed'”, before releasing an official statement.

“Nottingham Forest is delighted to confirm the signing of striker Emmanuel Dennis from Watford,” the club stated on their official website.

“The 24-year-old forward arrives on Trentside having hit double figures for The Hornets last season, returning 10 goals from 33 Premier League starts.

“Prior to arriving in England, Dennis’ first professional venture was in Ukraine’s top-flight with Zorya Luhansk before enjoying a productive four-year spell in Belgium with Club Brugge, notably scoring twice in a 2-2 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu against Real Madrid in the group stages of the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League.”

Dennis, who has played seven times for Nigeria, will link up with his international teammate Taiwo Awoniyi, who joined Nottingham Forest earlier in the summer from Union Berlin for £17m.

Forest manager Steve Cooper has strengthened his squad with 15 players during this transfer window, spending around £110m.

Senegal international midfielder Cheick Kouyaté, who left Crystal Palace earlier this summer after failing to agree a new deal, also joined Forest last night, the 32-year-old signing a two-year contract.

Forest have also been linked with Brighton forward Neal Maupay, who was left out of Saturday’s Premier League squad against Newcastle, as well as Wolves winger Morgan Gibbs-White.
