Barcelona have been drawn to play Bayern Munich in the biggest match-up of the UEFA Champions League group phase draw held today in Istanbul, Turkey.
The European giants have faced each other several times in the competition in recent years, with Bayern having the upper hand, including as embarrassing 8-2 result in 2020.
They are both drawn in Group C in this season’s competition, along with Inter Milan and Viktoria Plzen of the Czech Republic.
In Group A, Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen and his Napoli teammates have a tough task in their hands as they will face last season’s losing finalists Liverpool, Dutch champions Ajax and Rangers, who reached the Europa League final last season.
Champions Real Madrid will begin the quest for a record-extending 15th title from Group F where they will battle RB Leipzig, Shakhtar Donetsk and Celtic.
Serie A champions AC Milan are in the same Group E as RB Salzburg and Dinamo Zagreb.
Group G will see a clash between the current and former clubs of Erling Halaand as Manchester City are drawn with Borussia Dortmund, with Sevilla and the club of Nigerian youngsters Akinkunmi Amoo and Paul Mukairu, FC Copenhagen, also there.
