FINALLY, the House of Representatives has taken a resolution to invite President Buhari for explanation on the growing insecurity in the country.
This came on the heels of the killing of over 43 rice farmers in Zarbamari village, Borno State over the weekend.
Naija Times had reported how the motion to invite the president to the House had earlier divided the lawmakers.
The division prompted the lawmakers to suddenly go into executive session.
Reconvening after an hour from the closed-door meeting, Ahmadu Jaha from Borno State who had earlier insisted on the invitation of the president was asked to formally move the motion.
The motion for the president’s appearance was seconded by another lawmaker and then subsequently subjected to voice vote.
The motion eventually received overwhelming support of the House and hence the resolution to summon the president.
The House was, however, silent on the time of the president’s appearance.
