Omonia Nicosia head coach Neil Lennon is eager to test his side’s strength against Manchester United tomorrow.

The Cypriot side host the English giants in a UEFA Europa League Group F clash tomorrow night, with both sides needing victories.

Omonia Nicosia, the club of Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, are looking for their first win of the competition having lost their first two games.

On their part, United need to win to keep pace with group leaders Real Sociedad, who defeated them 1-0 at Old Trafford in September.

“We are all very excited about playing Manchester United for a number of reasons,” former Celtic manager Lennon told Scottish newspaper Daily Record.

“Obviously because they are one of the biggest clubs in the world. It will be a great experience for my players and some of them are Manchester United supporters!”

Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has not been given much playing time at Manchester United by Erik ten Hag but Lennon believes the 37-year-old Portugal captain will light up Nicosia tomorrow and play a key role for the Red Devils by the end of the campaign.

“I understand in the sense why he hasn’t been playing, but you can’t keep him out [of the team] for long. Over the course of the season, Manchester United will need Cristiano Ronaldo,” Lennon noted.

“Once he hits his match fitness then he could have another bumper season. The fact that he’s going to be here in this stadium, and I’ll get to see him again live and close up is fantastic because he’s one of the greatest players of all-time, so it’s very, very special. “

One of the Manchester United fans in the Omonia Nicosia squad is Uzoho, who vowed to stop his favourite club when the draw was made in August.

“Baba e no even sure say na me go keep, but if I sha keep I go for sure die for that post o,” Uzoho had replied, with laughing emojis, when a Twitter user had joked with him to let United score.

Uzoho has made only two appearances for Omonia Nicosia this season, the last one as a half-time substitute in the 3-0 home defeat to FC Sheriff in the Europa League on September 8.
