THE National Universities Commission (NUC) has now approved 11 new academic programs at the University of Igbinedion, Okada.
This announcement was made available in a statement made available to journalists today, by the institution’s registrar, Mr. Friday Bakare.
He revealed that a recent communication from Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, the NUC’s executive secretary, to the university contained the NUC’s consent to start the new programs.
He listed the six undergraduate and five postgraduate programmes, including B.Sc Industrial Chemistry, B.Sc Cyber Security, B.Sc Pharmacology, B.Sc Software Engineering and B.Eng Environmental Engineering.
Others are B.Eng Mechatronics Engineering; PGD, M.Eng & PhD Civil Engineering; PGD, M.Eng & PhD Petroleum Engineering; PGD, M.Eng & PhD Computer Engineering; M.Sc & PhD Sociology; and M.Sc & PhD Geography and Regional Planning,” he said.
According to him, admission into the new programmes will commence from the ongoing 2022/23 academic session.
